What to Order First at Mo'Rockin Fusion: A Guide to Our Moroccan Bowls

New to Moroccan food? Our menu at Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St, explained: beef tagine, sweet lamb, couscous, the five Mixes, sauces and prices.

If you have walked past our counter inside Boston Public Market and were not sure where to start, this guide is for you. Mo'Rockin Fusion serves Moroccan food as bowls: a protein, a base, a side and sauce, ready to eat at the market or carry back to your desk. We have been cooking for Boston since 2016, first from a food truck and now from our stall at 100 Hanover Street.

Below is the menu the way we would walk a friend through it on a first visit. Prices are the ones on our menu page in October 2026.

How does a bowl work?

Every bowl starts with one of four proteins: Mo’Rockin Style Chicken or Mo’Rockin Tofu at 14.95, Beef Tagine at 17.45 or Sweet Lamb at 17.95. Then you choose a base, one side and your sauces. On our online order page that means one base out of seven, one side out of five, and one to three of our eleven sauces. Yellow rice and Moroccan couscous are the two bases you will see most often in the bowls our kitchen puts together.

What should I order on my first visit?

If that feels like a lot of decisions before lunch, order a Mix. These are five bowls our kitchen has already built, each one a protein, a base, a side and two sauces:

  • Princess14.95Mo'Rockin Style Chicken, Moroccan Couscous, Roasted Beets, Pineapple BBQ and White Garlicky Sauce
  • Prince14.95Mo'Rockin Style Chicken, Yellow Rice, Jalapeño Chickpeas, Spicy Harissa & White Garlicky Sauce

What is a tagine, and which bowls are slow cooked?

A tagine is the clay pot with the tall cone lid that you see in our logo, and the name also covers the slow stews cooked in it.

On our menu, Beef Tagine (17.45) is spiced beef braised for up to six hours. Sweet Lamb (17.95) is slow cooked with a mix of Moroccan spices and braised for up to six hours too. These are the two proteins that take the longest before they ever reach the counter. In a Mix, the beef goes into the King and the lamb into the Sultan.

Chicken or tofu: which should I pick?

Mo’Rockin Style Chicken is prepared with a blend of Moroccan spices. It is the protein in two Mixes, the Princess and the Prince, so it is a safe place to start if you like your first visit simple.

Mo’Rockin Tofu is our meatless protein. The menu describes it as inspired by Moroccan tagine style, cooked in tomato sauce and spices. It is the base of the Queen.

“I tried the Queen plate and it was absolutely delicious! The taste was slightly spicy and very flavorful.”
Robert, a customer, on the Queen

Couscous or rice, and which side?

Moroccan Couscous is the base in the Princess. Our catering menu describes our couscous as steamed with aged butter and finished with vegetarian broth, so it contains dairy. Yellow rice is spiced with turmeric and Moroccan spices, and it sits under the other four Mixes.

The side comes with the bowl, and each one is also 4.95 on its own: Chilled Quinoa Salad, Jalapeño Chickpeas, Beet Salad, Mixed Beans and Sweet Corn. Jalapeño Chickpeas are marked spicy, and they and the Chilled Quinoa Salad are both marked vegan on our menu.

Which sauces are spicy, and which are sweet?

Sauce is the last thing you choose. White Garlicky Sauce is made with plain yogurt, crème fraîche, garlic and sea salt. Spicy Harissa brings the heat. Pineapple BBQ is our own version of a sweet BBQ sauce. Our catering menu also lists Mild Tomato, Spicy Tomato and Strawberry BBQ. We encourage mixing them, because layering flavors is the whole idea. The Mixes show how our kitchen pairs them: White Garlicky Sauce with either Spicy Harissa or Pineapple BBQ.

Cooking at home? Our Signature Spice Blend is 9 a bag at the stall, and it can go into rice, couscous, stews or roasted vegetables.

Something lighter, and something sweet

The Power Boost Salad, 13.95, is dried cranberry, parsley, cilantro and virgin olive oil. To finish, Date Bites are 2 each: date paste mixed with coconut butter, a hint of sea salt and vanilla extract.

Can you feed a group or an office?

The same food comes in trays for offices and events. Most trays serve 10: Beef Tagine is 90 a tray and Sweet Lamb is 95, and there are catering-only dishes too, like Rotisserie Saffron Chicken at 80 and Moroccan Shrimp Tagine at 152 for up to 15. Everyone builds their own bowl from the spread.

Catering is delivery only, with a $400 minimum, and we ask for at least 48 hours notice. Delivery is $50 for the first 5 miles from the market, then $4 a mile, up to 25 miles. You can build the order and check the delivery fee for your address on our catering page.
